Ray Stanley BA MA FRSA - Associate Tutor

Ray has been a design practitioner thoughout his career and is a member of the British Film Designers Guild.

As a Senior Lecturer and Academic with 30 years lecturing experience, in practical and theoretical studies this has led to responsibility for directing and managing the student learning experience. It has always been critical to me that it is paramount that study generates a complex and convergent landscape of possibilities, with individualism being the central objective with recognising that collaboration and teamwork form the day-to-day life of the practitioner designer.

'In 2011 as part of a joint initiative between the University and Film Design International to provide a Master of Arts award in Art Direction I was introduced to Terry and the world of film design. The synergy of skills and ideas reflecting many themes and attributes between architecture, interior, theatre scenic design and film design has led to a strong working relationship of shared values between myself and Terry’s inspirational ideals. I can highly commend the unique studio environment that is a truly inspiring place to work and study, fully immersed in the history and future of Art Direction'.
